What are Firefly™ Push Grip Cable Clips?

Firefly™ push grip cable clips are low-profile, push-in metal fasteners engineered specifically for securing small-diameter data, telecom, and fibre optic cables to concrete, brick, or wood substrates. They provide a rapid, flush-fitting routing method where a neat, virtually invisible installation finish is required.

With a melting point exceeding 1300°C, these spring-steel fire clips ensure full compliance with BS 7671 18th Edition and BS 6701 wiring regulations regarding data and fibre optic containment runs. To maintain consistent cable retention along the path, clips must be spaced at 150mm intervals and must not exceed a maximum installation spacing of 300mm.

The Firefly™ range includes white aesthetic finish clips designed to accommodate 0.9mm and 2.0mm cable diameters, supplied in trade-ready packs of 50 to maintain a consistent installation standard across your project layout.

Installation Method:

To install, drill the correct pilot hole size and depth to suit your selected clip variant (a 3mm hole for 0.9mm clips, or a 4mm hole for 2.0mm clips). Push the clip into the drilled hole until the coiled section is fully inside the substrate using finger or thumb pressure. Place the cable into the hook section of the clip, then complete the installation by gently pushing the clip further into the hole until the cable is held secure and flush to the surface. A specialized push grip clip fitting tool is also available separately for high-repetition installation work.
