What Are 316 Stainless Steel Herreshoff Cleats?
316 stainless steel Herreshoff cleats provide a durable fixing point for securing ropes, lines and light rigging in marine, outdoor and general industrial applications. Also known as boat cleats, deck cleats, mooring cleats or rope cleats, they are commonly used on boats, docks, pontoons, jetties and external structures.
Manufactured from 316 stainless steel, also known as A4 stainless steel or marine grade stainless steel, these cleats offer strong resistance to corrosion, humidity and saltwater exposure. This makes them suitable for harsh environments where standard steel hardware may deteriorate more quickly.
The Herreshoff style provides a traditional open base design with raised horns, allowing rope or line to be secured neatly around the cleat.
