What are threaded inserts and how are they used?

WDS Keylocking Threaded Inserts serve the purpose of swiftly restoring stripped, impaired, or exhausted threads by replacing them with more robust threads. They are equally effective for either rejuvenating original equipment threads or creating new ones. Installing and uninstalling WDS inserts is a hassle-free process, devoid of the need for specialised drills, taps, or pre-winder tools. By driving the keys into the threads of the encompassing base material, the insert becomes securely locked in position.

How are these threaded inserts installed?

Drill & Tap: Drill out the hole with the suitable standard tap drill with a standard 82-100 degree angle. Then tap the new threads with a standard tap.

Screw in the Insert: Screw the insert into the tapped hole until it is 0.25-0.70mm below the surface.

Drive the Keys Down: Using a hammer, drive the pins down on the proper threaded insert installation tool. This can be purchased from WDS separately.
