What Are Lid Door Stays?
Lid door stays, also known as cover stays, provide positioning control for lids and light access panels, helping hold them at set angles and preventing over-opening.
They’re widely used across different styles of industrial enclosures and machine covers, as well as toolboxes and cabinets, where hands-free access is needed.
WDS lid door stays are designed for positioning and restraint rather than full counter-balancing; choose multi-stop/torque or damped stays if hold-open at various angles or controlled closing is required. They are available in styles such as long telescopic stays, short telescopic stays with a button, automatic locks and more.

WDS lid door stays are easily installed with a simple screw-on mounting, featuring optional nut/bolt fixings, and are compatible with weld-on installations where required.

This product is available in A2 stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance in outdoor and industrial settings. These parts are not plated, ensuring long-lasting performance with a clean stainless appearance.
Mount directly to the lid and side panel using standard screws/nuts. For best results, align the stay so the detent engages at your desired open angle; weld-on mounting is an option when extra robustness is required.
