New Look WDS Website
Welcome to the new look WDS Component Parts website wdscomponents.com
Engineering components and standard parts supplier WDS Component Parts Ltd. has launched a new website (www.wdscomponents.com) designed to help busy engineers quickly find the parts they require. In addition to an intuitive search function and access to their online accounts, WDS is providing technical data, CAD drawings and access to customisable options via the online portal.
WDS has been supplying industry in the UK and further afield with parts and components for many years and was a pioneer in using the internet for on-line ordering. Its old website was popular with users thanks to its easy navigation and wealth of technical data.
"Digital technology is very fast to evolve, particularly when it comes to websites and online functionality," says Tony Porritt, WDS' Senior Digital Marketing Executive "The incumbent site was at the cutting edge when it was launched, but we wanted to use the latest technologies to further improve the browsing experience for our customers. We decided it was time for a completely new website, one which is slicker, faster and enhances the user experience.
"The aim was to give the search engine an intuitive feel, almost as if the website thinks like an engineer. One innovation is that some products can be searched by a number of different names and even nicknames, such as ball detent pins, ball pins, locking pins or securing pins. We're also providing more technical information for each product including the available specification options and also suggesting alternative products."
For regular users it is easy to access their accounts online – with different account options including guest, personal, business and trade. With an account set up user can save their preferences and easily view their online order history. WDS prioritises customer services and offers next day delivery on most online orders or any size. For customers who still prefer a personal touch, WDS does operate a telephone order line (0845 606 66 77).
Designers will still have access to thousands of 3D models available for download in all major formats and versions all free of charge.
