What are spherical seating nuts?

A spherical seating nut is a standard nut that features a precisely machined radius on its bottom face. This unique design element is intended to work with WDS spherical seating washers. The purpose of this design is to enable angular offset adjustments during clamping operations, resulting in enhanced clamping force. The spherical underside of these nuts is a WDS components design. Having a sphere on the underside instead of a cone shape, provides more surface area contact as well as offering more manoeuvrability.

This nut has a flange at the bottom, for the non flanged version see other WDS 407 nuts. The thread on this nut is ISO metric coarse pitch to suit most standard machine components.
