What Are Stud Bushings?
Stud bushings are specialised components designed to enhance the fastening of OK-Vise® low-profile clamps. While socket head cap screws are commonly used for this purpose, using a stud with a bushing and hex nut provides distinct advantages in certain situations.
For example, when fastening clamps to plates with relatively short threaded holes, standard bolts can cause damage to the threads over time, especially in high-value or precision fixture plates and tooling columns. By using a stud with an OK-Vise® bushing, the thread is protected, reducing wear and ensuring the longevity of the plate and tooling.
Another advantage of stud bushings is their ability to simplify operations in the factory. Using this fastening method can minimise the variety of power tools required for securing clamps, improving efficiency and standardisation across multiple applications.
Key Benefits:
- Protection for Tapped Holes: Prevents damage in applications involving short threads or expensive fixture plates.
- Enhanced Durability: Extends the lifespan of both the fastening system and mounting surface.
- Operational Efficiency: Reduces tool variability, promoting streamlined workflows.
Stud bushings provide a reliable and efficient alternative for fastening low-profile clamps, offering superior thread protection and operational simplicity.
