What are threaded inserts and how are they used?

WDS Keylocking Threaded Inserts serve the purpose of rapidly restoring threads that have become stripped, impaired, or depleted, either by introducing sturdier replacement threads or for integration into initial equipment. The installation and removal of WDS Inserts are straightforward tasks, devoid of any necessity for specialised drills, taps, or pre-winder tools. The inserts' keys are driven into the base material's threads, effectively securing the insert in its position.

How are these threaded inserts installed?

Drill & Tap: Drill out the hole with the suitable standard tap drill with a standard 82-100 degree angle. Then tap the new threads with a standard tap.

Screw in the Insert: Screw the insert into the tapped hole until it is 0.25-0.70mm below the surface.

Drive the Keys Down: Using a hammer, drive the pins down on the proper threaded insert installation tool. This can be purchased from WDS separately.
