What are Hygienic cap nuts?

Hygienic cap nuts have a refined exterior polish, designed for optimal performance in sanitary settings. Their upper section is spherically shaped, while the collar features a finely contoured conical top. The nut's intentionally low-profile design minimises troublesome corners which can harbour dust or bacteria. Thanks to their highly polished surface finish, measuring well below Ra 0.8 µm, these nuts remain virtually impervious to the adherence of dirt particles.

Tightening torques

Contact surface/head support made from A2 or A4 stainless steel. Coefficient of friction for thread and head support μges = 0.23. Preload force based on 80% of the 0.2% yield point of Rp0.2 = 200 N/mm².

It is reccomended when fitting to use a spanner fitting with a plastic insert, part number WDS 7657. This allows for damage-free tightening and loosening.
