What is a crank handle and what are they used for?

Design Features
This crank handle is precision cast from 316 Stainless Steel, has a shot blasted finish with a machine bore top and bottom of the mounting boss and the machine surface for the mounting grip. A 120-degree dimple is present halfway up the handle boss - this is to aid the user in drilling a hole for a pin or set screw if desired. The supplied handle is a polished revolving 316 Stainless Steel handle with enhanced aesthetic.
