The spherical underside of these nuts is a WDS components design. Having a sphere on the underside instead of a cone shape, provides more surface area contact as well as offering more manoeuvrability.

This nut has a flange at the bottom, for the non flanged version see other WDS 407 nuts. The thread on this nut is UNC (Unified National Coarse) - this product is also available in metric from WDS.
