What are threaded inserts and how are they used?

WDS Keylocking Threaded Inserts serve the purpose of swiftly restoring threads that are stripped, impaired, or depleted, either by introducing more robust threads or for utilisation in initial equipment. These inserts are designed for effortless installation and removal. No specialised drills, taps, or pre-winder tools are necessitated. The locking keys are inserted into the base material's threads, effectively securing the insert in position.

How are these threaded inserts installed?

Drill & Tap: Drill out the hole with the suitable standard tap drill with a standard 82-100 degree angle. Then tap the new threads with a standard tap.

Screw in the Insert: Screw the insert into the tapped hole until it is 0.25-0.70mm below the surface

Drive the Keys Down: Using a hammer, drive the pins down on the proper threaded insert installation tool. This can be purchased from WDS separately.
