What are clamping levers and how do they work?

Clamp levers are mechanical constituents designed to enable the efficient tightening and loosening of screws by simply turning the lever, eliminating the need for tools. Their standout attribute is their proficiency in confined spaces: a straightforward lift of the lever disengages the threaded serration (preventing the screw from turning even during lever rotation).

As the lever and threaded serration are typically interlocked, manipulating the lever results in simultaneous rotation of the screw.
An upward tug on the lever disengages the threaded serration (causing the screw to halt its motion when the lever is rotated).
Releasing the lever allows it to automatically revert to its original position of engagement with the threaded serration, thanks to the integrated spring force.
