Shaft collars are commonly used on machinery and transmission applications such as gear boxes and motors. The simple design allows the collar to be set in position using a set screw, grub screw or a soft tipped adjusting handle.
The screw can be adjusted using a screwdriver or handle; tightening or loosening the grip will allow the collar to be moved up and down a shaft.
