What are Detent pins?

Detent pins are a type of fastening hardware used to securely position and hold components together, allowing for quick assembly and disassembly. They consist of a pin with one or more balls or notches at one end, which are held in place by a spring mechanism. When the pin is inserted into a hole, the balls or notches compress and then expand into a recess, locking the pin in place. To remove the pin, a user simply needs to pull or push on the pin to compress the balls or notches and slide it out.
