What is a spring locator unit and what are they used for?

A spring locator is a mechanical component designed for precise positioning and alignment in various applications. It consists of a sprung-loaded location unit equipped with a 16mm pin, which can be retracted using the ball handle. When the handle is released, the built-in spring mechanism automatically returns the pin to its original position. This pin has an 8mm stroke or travel, enabling it to accommodate slight variations in positioning. The spring locator unit includes two mounting holes measuring 6.3mm, allowing it to be secured using either M6 bolts or 1/4" bolts.
