Semi Split Shaft Collars

Semi-split shaft collars, also known as half-split or partial-split collars, are a type of shaft collar designed to offer a balance between the strength of a solid collar and the convenience of a split collar. Unlike solid collars, which are a single piece that must be slid onto the end of a shaft, semi-split collars are designed with a single fracture that allows them to open partially for a more straightforward installation around the shaft without the need for disassembly of the entire system. They are typically secured with screws, providing robust clamping force. These collars are commonly used in various mechanical applications, such as guiding, spacing, stopping, mounting, and component alignment on a shaft. Their use is prevalent in motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and other mechanical assemblies where ease of installation and a firm grip are required without sacrificing shaft integrity.
