What are clamping levers?

Clamping levers or clamping handles are handy devices which are used to efficiently adjust machine components without the extra hassle of other tools. Here at WDS, we have improved our range of indexing clamp lever by introducing new T handle and L handle levers. These space saving clamp levers are most suitable for:

  • Machine and fixture construction
  • Clamping workpieces
  • Simple height adjustment of machine components
  • Positioning measurement equipment

Adjustable clamping levers are also ideal for use in the rehabilitation sector for example, when adjusting footrests on wheelchairs and even adjusting the handle height on rollators.

How do clamping levers work?

WDS Components new range of innovative clamping L handles operate by;

  1. Simply lifting the body of the handle
  2. Rotating to the desired angle
  3. Release handle to re-engage it with the component

This easy 3 step mechanism offers a quick, adjustable clamping lever which uses threaded serrations to prevent the screw from moving when the lever is pulled up. This ergonomic design helps save space, particularly for components in tight and hard-to-get-to spaces. These new clamp handles also promote work efficiency as the need of extra tools and equipment change over is entirely removed. WDS Components offer a variety of colours for these handles which can provide users with an opportunity to standardize work by outlining different procedures with different colours.

Materials and Benefits

WDS Components new range of clamp handles are composed of high-quality materials such as; Zinc Die Cast, POM and Black oxidized steel.

Black Oxidized Steel Screw (with ball end) – The black oxidized steel allows the component to last longer, as it doesn’t rust easily due to its chemical coating. Steel screws are also incredibly tough and have a high ability to withstand abrasion, great for long term and heavy-duty usage.

Swivel Thrust Pad – The detachable swivel thrust pad is constructed from a techno-polymer plastic, which has an impressive wear resistance making it perfect for long term use.

L Handle

Zinc Die Cast Handle – This material is suitable for robust applications because it possesses high strength and hardness characteristics. Another benefit of Zinc Die Cast is that it is a cost-efficient material which is particularly useful when there are multiple machine components that require clamping handles without compromising their durability.

T Handle

Reinforced Polyamide - As one of the most cost-effective materials available, reinforced polyamide is a material which is available in Black Grey (RAL 7021) or in Pure Orange (RAL 2004).
